Description
What kind of wine is it?
Barolo Fossati Case Nere by Roberto Voerzio is a structured red wine made from Nebbiolo grapes harvested in the Fossati and Case Nere crus. It displays expressive finesse and the ability to evolve for a long time in the bottle. Fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature and aging in barrique offer a balance between structure and freshness, and this profile suits those seeking a complex and harmonious wine.
Where does it come from?
This Barolo is produced in La Morra, in the heart of the Langhe. The La Morra setting, known for wines with an elegant touch, gives Barolo Fossati Case Nere refinement and great aging potential.
How is it made?
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel. The wine matures for 24 months in barriques (30% new, 70% used), then rests in steel for 8 months and continues with a long bottle aging. This process favors aromatic integration and complexity.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a garnet color with slight orange hues. The bouquet is broad, with notes of wilted violet, rose petals, aromatic herbs, licorice root, and small red fruits. On the palate, it offers a harmonious texture with silky tannins, an enveloping mouthfeel, and a long finish, recalling dried red fruits and sweet spices.
Food pairings
Barolo Fossati Case Nere pairs well with robust red meats, roasts, braised dishes, and game.
When to serve it
Serve at 18°C in large glasses to enhance its aromatics. The wine is ready to drink but has significant aging potential, evolving in complexity and depth over time. Ideal for cellaring, it reaches its peak after a long rest and accompanies major dishes and special occasions.
