Barolo Terlo Riserva DOCG 2013 L'Astemia Pentita
Description
Declared the best wine of the year at Vinitaly 2019, Barolo Terlo Riserva dell'Astemia Pentita comes from one of the most suitable geographical mentions of Barolo, a one-hectare cru from which strictly selected Nebbiolo grapes are obtained from the Lampia and Michet sub-varieties.
It is the result of a traditional red vinification, with maceration of 30-35 days. The wine ages for 30 months in oak tonneaux, then for another 30 months in bottle before being placed on the market.
In the glass it has a bright ruby red color with light orange hues. The scent recalls a basket of red fruits, with references to cherry jam and slight herbaceous hints. The strong tannin heralds a wine with a great aging capacity which is substantiated by a rich and material extract, wrapped in a pleasant freshness.
It is exalted with dishes based on Piedmont's black truffle and long-aged cheeses.
