Description

Vigne de L'Enfant Jésus is a Bourgogne 1er Cru produced near Beaune by the Bouchard family in the vineyard of Les Grèves.

The name of the wine is taken from that of the parcel owned by the Carmelites already in the mid-seventeenth century. The birth of Louis XIV would have been predicted by a young nun in order to definitively confirm the prestige of the vineyard area. After the manual selection of the Pinot Noir grapes, the wine is de-stemmed and fermented in small containers for 15-20 days. The wine ages for up to 14 months in wooden barrels, from 30% to 50% new.

Of a beautiful ruby red with some garnet reflections, it is full of hints of red fruits such as wild strawberries and refined in the aromas of spices and woody notes. Intense and delicate on the palate, it retains excellent structure, soft tannins and long persistence.

Definitely a wine to pair with game and soft cheeses.
