Description
The Bitter Rosso Bordiga is a historic bitter produced in Cuneo, in Piedmont, that evokes the style of the 1950s and is now reintroduced according to the same recipe, with traditional ingredients rebalanced to suit contemporary tastes. Key botanicals include gentian, juniper, yarrow, cassia, orange, thistle and cinchona, which contribute to its characteristic balance between bitter sensations and citrus notes.
Production is carried out artisanally using high-quality raw materials, including alpine herbs that are strictly handpicked. Infusions and distillates are made directly at the distillery by macerating the botanicals in pure wheat alcohol, while filtration is performed using natural processes and paper filters.
In appearance it shows a ruby-red color. The aroma is clear and clean, with echoes of bittering herbs alternating with fruitier and spicier nuances; on the palate it shows good body and balance, with a pleasant bitter component tempered by the sweetness of citrus.
Ideal as an aperitif, it is particularly well suited to mixing classic cocktails such as the Americano.
