Description

What kind of wine is it

Bolgheri Bianco Criseo di Guado al Melo is a white wine produced in the Bolgheri area, in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci. It is made from a blend of Vermentino, Fiano, Verdicchio, Incrocio Manzoni, and Petit Manseng, which gives clear aromas and a full texture on the palate. Fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature and aging on the fine lees define an elegant style, well-balanced and with a pronounced persistence.

Where it comes from

Criseo comes from vineyards located in Castagneto Carducci, in the Bolgheri territory along the Tuscan coast. Here, the soil is sandy with a fine clay component and is enriched with pebbles, elements that are part of the wine's identity. Its origin and soil foundation support a profile focused on aromatic cleanness, balance, and complexity, with a precise finish.

How it is produced

The production involves a gentle pressing of the grapes, followed by fermentation in stainless steel at a controlled temperature to preserve the most delicate aromas. Aging continues for 12 months in stainless steel on the fine lees, enhancing texture and complexity without introducing oxidative notes. The process is completed by further bottle aging before release to the market.

Tasting notes

In the glass it shows a bright golden yellow. The bouquet is clean and elegant, with prominent white flowers and citrus fruits, followed by aromatic herbs and a hint of honey; in the finish, sweet fruit notes emerge. The palate is full and well-balanced, with a harmonious progression and a long, persistent finish, supported by the contact with the fine lees.

Food pairings

Thanks to its structure and balance, it pairs well with seafood dishes where aromatic intensity and crispness are important. It's ideal with seafood risottos, complementing the creaminess and supporting the briny notes without overpowering them. It also works with grilled fish, as its persistence and citrus sensations keep the sip fresh after cooking.

When to serve it

It’s perfect when you want a white wine with an elegant yet full profile, capable of accompanying a seafood meal from start to finish. Fermentation and aging in stainless steel at controlled temperatures, with 12 months on the fine lees, result in a balanced taste and long finish. Bottle aging further clarifies the expression of white flowers, citrus fruits, and aromatic herbs, enhancing its precision and length on the palate.
