Description

Bolgheri Superiore Lavinia Maria is one of the three cru of Tenuta Argentiera. This wine therefore represents one of the highest expressive summits of the company and of the territory, dedicated to the young offspring of the Fratini family.

It is produced entirely with Cabernet Franc grapes, harvested and selected by hand from a single vineyard which is located about 200 m above sea level. The fermentation and maturation processes on the skins are carried out in conical steel tanks at controlled temperatures between 28 ° C and 30 ° C. Afterwards, the wine passes into French Allier and Tronçais oak barriques, where, after finishing the malolactic fermentation, the evolutionary phase begins, lasting 18 months. Then follows a refinement in the bottle for at least 12 months before being put on the market.

Bolgheri Superiore Lavinia Maria has an intense ruby red color, with small purple hints. The long refinement and the accuracy in the production give this wine unique organoleptic properties. The nose has a fruity scent of plum, blackberry and cassis, which is accompanied by spicy hints of black pepper, nutmeg and cloves. At the end elegant balsamic sensations appear which end with a memory of cypress. On the palate it is full-bodied and excellent structure, with a delicate tannin, derived from Merlot. The fruity aromas of plum and blackberry are followed by a savory and fresh finish, which re-proposes the peculiarities of the Argentiera estate terroir.

It goes perfectly with cured meats and cheeses. It is ideal with grilled red meats and game.
