Bolgheri DOC Superiore Argentiera 10th Anniversary 2013 Tenuta Argentiera
Description
The Bolgheri Superiore Argentiera 10th Anniversary was born in the famous Bolgheri DOC, in vineyards positioned at an altitude of about 200 meters above sea level. The special label that dresses this Bolgheri Superiore celebrates the tenth year of production of one of the symbolic wines of Tenuta Argentiera, crowning an intense exploration of its potential.
It is produced with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc grapes, harvested only by hand between September and October and vinified separately. The fermentation, separated for the different varieties, takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28-30 ° C, for 25-30 days. After the malolactic fermentation, carried out in Allier and Tronçais oak barriques, the wine ages for 18 months in barriques and for another 12 months in glass, before being released on the market.
The Bolgheri Superiore 10th Anniversary of Argentiera has an intense and bright ruby red color. The nose boasts a rare complexity, with fruity notes of cherry and plum that blend with interesting spicy aromas of almond, pepper and nutmeg, enriched with fresh balsamic sensations of mint and eucalyptus. The finish with hints of cocoa and blond Virginia tobacco complete a harmonious and fascinating olfactory picture. In the mouth it is a balanced wine, thanks to an excellent flavor and an exceptional freshness which absorb the high alcohol content. Sensations of plum and berries then accompany towards a persistent finish with pleasant aromatic notes, which elegantly complete the tasting.
Perfect to accompany important dishes such as grilled and roasted red meats, it is ideal for moments of meditation.
