Description
The Bourgogne La Monatine from Domaine Rougeot is a white wine made from Chardonnay grapes grown in the lower part of the village of Meursault, a few meters from the parcels of Meursault Village “Sous la Velle.” This climate is noted for its accessibility and softness, offering an immediate and harmonious expression of the Burgundy terroir.
The grapes are hand-harvested and whole-pressed with gentle pneumatic pressing. The must undergoes a two-day cold settling, followed by alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts and malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. After aging, the wine is transferred to stainless steel tanks for final blending and rests for a month before filtration and bottling.
On the nose, it offers delicate aromas of white flowers, fresh fruit, and slight buttery notes. On the palate, it is soft and round, with good freshness and a balance that makes it pleasing even when young. The structure is fine, with a clean and mineral finish that elegantly expresses the character of the place.
Excellent when paired with fish appetizers, grilled white meats, or soft, fresh cheeses.
