Description

The Brunello di Montalcino Castelgiocondo Riserva dei Marchesi de 'Frescobaldi was born in the Ripe al Convento vineyard, located in the highest part of the Castel Giocondo estate, in Montalcino.

It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, harvested and carefully selected by hand during the first week of October. The grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks at a temperature below 30 ° C for 10 days and are left to macerate for 30 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is placed in Slavonian oak barrels and French oak barriques, where it remains for about 2 years. Once bottled, it rests in the bottle for another 6 months before being marketed.

Castelgiocondo Riserva is a wine with an intense ruby red color, with light garnet reflections on the nail. The nose opens with pleasant fruity notes of blackberry and plum jam, followed by hints of coffee and hints of China calisaia bark that leave space in the final with undergrowth aromas, spicy flavors of black pepper and mineral scents of graphite. In the mouth it is fine and elegant, very balanced, with a long and persistent finish.

Perfect to accompany long-cooked red meats, such as stews and stews, it is ideal in combination with large roasts and aged cheeses.
