Description

This Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is made exclusively from Sangiovese grapes selected from the oldest vineyards of the Capanna estate, located in the prestigious area of Montosoli, north of Montalcino. Produced only in the best vintages, it represents the most complex and long-lasting expression of the winery, managed by the Cencioni family since 1957.

The winemaking process involves a long maceration on the skins, between 30 and 35 days, in Slavonian oak truncated-cone vats, where alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature and the subsequent spontaneous malolactic fermentation also take place. The wine is then aged in Slavonian oak barrels for over 40 months, followed by further aging in the bottle for at least 15 months.

Visually, it appears with an intense, vivid ruby red color. The nose opens with complex aromas of ripe red fruits, jam, spices, and licorice. On the palate, it shows a great structure with well-integrated tannins and extraordinary persistence, supported by soft and elegant components.

Perfectly paired with roasted red meats, game, and very mature cheeses.
