Description

What kind of wine it is

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Gualto di Camigliano is an organic red wine made from Sangiovese Grosso grapes harvested from the estate's top vineyards. Its style is full-bodied and structured, with a profile focused on complexity and a clear propensity for aging. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks and the subsequent maturation in French oak barrels, completed by a period in the bottle, defines an expression consistent with the character of Brunello di Montalcino.

Where it comes from

It originates in Montalcino, Tuscany, within the Brunello di Montalcino appellation. The grapes are selected from the best vineyards of the Camigliano estate, with the aim of producing a Reserve of great solidity. The origin, tied to a single production area and a management focused on organic practices, is reflected in a sober style and in the ability to maintain definition over time.

How it is made

The harvest is manual and takes place in October. Fermentation occurs in steel vats at a controlled temperature between 28 and 30 °C, with maceration on the skins lasting 21–25 days, intended to extract color, tannins, and aromatic components. This is followed by 36 months of maturation in French oak barrels and further refinement in the bottle, beneficial to integrate structure and aromatic profile.

Tasting notes

In the glass, it shows a brilliant ruby red color. The nose is broad and varied, with notes of ripe fruit, hints of Mediterranean scrub and aromatic herbs, all on a well-defined texture. On the palate, it is balanced and full, with silky and integrated tannins; the progression is smooth and the finish is long and harmonious, with a lasting flavor sensation.

Food pairing

It naturally pairs with red meats, game, and aged cheeses, thanks to its structure and tannic texture. At the table, it is well suited for important dinners where a red wine is needed to match intensity and succulence, maintaining balance and persistence until the end.

When to serve it

It is recommended when you want a red wine of great structure, suitable for special occasions or dedicated tasting moments. The prolonged maturation and the overall balance suggest a good capacity for evolution, with a gradual increase in complexity over time. It can already be appreciated for its definition, or cellared to follow its evolution in the bottle.
