Description
What kind of wine it is
Brunello di Montalcino Selezione Madonna delle Grazie by Il Marroneto is a still red wine crafted from a carefully selected harvest of grapes from a historic vineyard. The winemaking style focuses on structure and definition, offering a solid taste profile and a clear aromatic character, achieved through attentive vinification and long periods of aging in both wood and bottle.
Where it comes from
The grapes originate from the historic Marroneto vineyard known as Madonna delle Grazie, named after the small 13th-century church nearby. This origin is fundamental to the wine’s identity, reflecting its deep connection with the Montalcino area through meticulous vineyard selection.
How it is produced
After harvest, fermentation takes place in Allier oak vats for around 20–22 days. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for 41 months and completes its development with a further 10 months of refinement in the bottle, steps that ensure balance and integration of its components.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows an intense garnet red color. The bouquet reveals ripe red fruit, along with hints of mint and liquorice, invigorated by touches of bitter coffee. On the palate, it is bold and savory, robust, warm, and velvety, with a taste progression consistent with its maturation.
Food pairings
It pairs naturally with aged cheeses, where the wine’s structure and saltiness support the intensity of the flavors. It is also an excellent match for braised meats and game in general, enhancing richly flavored dishes and slow-cooked preparations.
When to serve it
It is ideal when you want to bring a structured red wine to the table to accompany important dishes. Its style, based on wood fermentation and extended maturation, makes it suitable for attentive service, allowing the wine to fully express its aromas and textured palate.
