Description
This box contains three typical expressions of the Bolgheri appellation masterfully interpreted by the prestigious Antinori winery in the famous estate of Guado al Tasso: the Bolgheri Rosso Il Bruciato , the Bolgheri Vermentino and the Bolgheri Rosato Scalabrone , all three highly appreciated by both the public and critics.
Il Bruciato is made with a blend of vines of French origin, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah, which have found their home of choice here in Bolgheri. The name derives from the wood that was burned by the inhabitants as a form of protest against the hunting ban imposed by the Della Gherardesca family. The three varieties are processed separately, then combined and aged in barrique for 8 months. The result is a wine with a stamp of red fruits and spicy notes, soft, of great elegance, enchanting and seductive that finds the usual combination in first courses with meat sauce, grilled red meats and game.
Bolgheri Vermentino was born as a desire to rediscover the native Vermentino variety, characteristic of the Tyrrhenian coastal area, appreciated for its aromatic characteristics. The Bolgheri microclimate is particularly suitable for its growth, both for the topography of the territory and for the proximity to the sea which infuses a marked minerality and freshness and highlights its dowry of perfumes. The nose opens on a bouquet of citrus and floral notes, while in the mouth it is appreciated for its elegance, its fresh and balanced taste, combined with a pleasantly savory and persistent finish. It goes perfectly with fried foods but is also suitable as an aperitif wine.
Lo Scalabrone takes its name from the vineyard from which it originates, which in turn is inspired by the bandit "Scalabrone" who lived in this area in the early 1800s, whose figure recalls that of Robin Hood in terms of principles and values. Obtained from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes with parts of Syrah, it is characterized by a strong and intense aroma, typical of the Bolgheri terroir. Its slightly drained peony pink color anticipates sensations of red berry fruit, rose petals and hawthorn. In the mouth it is delicate, with beautiful fruit, with excellent freshness and persistence. Ideal with a fish soup with tomato sauce.
