Description
What type of wine is it
Baron-Fuenté's Champagne Brut Esprit is a cuvée expression from the Vallée de la Marne, created from a blend of Meunier and Chardonnay. The winemaking process begins with alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperature, followed by a second fermentation in the bottle according to the méthode champenoise. The subsequent maturation on lees for at least twenty-four months gives the wine a balanced and soft style, combining the character of the Meunier with the pronounced elegance of Chardonnay, resulting in a measured and harmonious finish.
Where it comes from
This wine is born in the Vallée de la Marne, particularly around the town of Charly-sur-Marne, where Baron-Fuenté directly manages forty hectares of vineyards. Direct care of the grapes ensures strong stylistic consistency and a deep connection to the territory. In this specific area of the Champagne region, the identity of Meunier plays a central role, accompanied by Chardonnay, which helps define a profile focused on freshness and roundness.
How it is produced
The production process begins with fermentation in stainless steel maintained at sixteen degrees, a deliberate choice to preserve all the original fragrance of the fruit. The malolactic fermentation is then completed to add greater softness to the taste profile. The prise de mousse takes place in the bottle through the méthode champenoise, with ageing on lees for at least twenty-four months. Strict timing between harvesting and pressing ensures the quality and integrity of the raw material.
Tasting notes
In the glass, Champagne Brut Esprit reveals a pale gold color, enhanced by a fine and persistent perlage. The nose reveals a discreet bouquet, characterized by brioche aromas, candied fruit, and clear honey notes. On the palate it is soft and flexible, able to combine purity with a distinctly rounded sensation. The refined structure guides the sip with consistency and precision, leaving an elegant and well-balanced finish.
Pairings
This wine is ideal as an aperitif glass or to accompany a casual outdoor toast. Its marked softness and clean sip make it pleasant even served alone, for a measured tasting experience.
When to serve it
Its great versatility makes this glass perfect for social occasions and gatherings with friends. It is an excellent choice when looking for a wine geared towards immediate pleasure, offering a satisfying roundness. When served at the proper temperature, it fully showcases its continuous perlage and characteristic notes of honey and candied fruit. It maintains a consistently elegant and composed profile, suitable for setting the rhythm of a pleasant day outdoors.
