Description
Valentin Leflaive's Champagne Rosé Grand Cru MA is made from a blend of grapes sourced from the villages of Ambonnay and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, combining Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown on calcareous, clay, and siliceous soils. The vineyards, located at an altitude ranging between approximately 100 and 119 meters with a south-east exposure, give the wine balance, complexity, and finesse.
The harvest is done by hand and followed by fractional pressing; a portion of red wine is added to the blend to achieve the characteristic rosé color, while fermentation takes place in steel with a share of reserve wines; the long aging on the lees helps develop structure, elegance, and depth.
It shows a bright salmon-pink color and a fine, persistent perlage; on the nose, it expresses notes of small red fruits such as raspberry and currant, accompanied by citrusy hints; on the palate, it is smooth and refined, with an elegant texture, pleasant freshness, and a long finish with subtle saline nuances.
Ideal with shellfish, firm-textured fish, and sophisticated seafood dishes.
