Description
The Champagne Brut Collection 245 by Louis Roederer is a refined and modern expression of the Maison's savoir-faire, the result of a skillful blend that combines grapes from three different estate vineyards – "la Rivière", "la Montagne", and "la Côte" – integrated with selected "Cœur de Terroir" parcels from partner growers. This Champagne embodies the constant evolution of the Roederer style, with a solid and elegant structure that reflects the region's identity and the richness of its grapes.
The winemaking process involves a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Meunier. 35% of the blend comes from a perpetual reserve that includes vintages from 2012 to 2019, while an additional 10% derives from reserve wines aged in wood. Malolactic fermentation is partially carried out to maintain freshness and tension, and the final dosage aims to preserve the balance between finesse and structure.
In the glass, it presents an elegant golden yellow hue with lively and persistent effervescence. The bouquet is intense, with notes of yellow fruits such as nectarine and ripe citrus, enriched with floral and almond hints reminiscent of pollen and sugared almonds. The palate is enveloping and silky, with very fine bubbles and a broad texture; the balance between material and calcareous freshness creates a savory and vibrant sensation, with a long, smoky, and finely woody finish.
Perfectly paired with dishes based on shellfish or raw fish with a delicate structure.
