Description
The Krug Grand Cuvée 169 Édition is one of the highest expressions of the Champagne of the Maison Krug and is made with a blend of 146 wines from 11 different vintages.
Created with reference to the 2013 vintage, it is composed of wines of character united by the Chef de cave to enhance the fullness and elegance of the basic varieties thanks to the addition of 40% reserve wines in the final blend. The final composition includes 43% of Pinot Noir, 35% of Chardonnay and 22% of Meunier. After the creation of the blend, the aging on the lees for 7 years guarantees the achievement of very high levels of expressiveness and intensity.
Golden yellow in color with fine perlage, it has hints of white flowers and ripe citrus notes, interspersed with marzipan and ginger bread. On the palate it is fine and enveloping, with references to almond paste, some buttery notes, dried fruit and citrus hints of candied orange and lemon of pleasant intensity. It offers an enveloping and elegant finish throughout the evolution of the sip.
Cross champagne, it is perfect to accompany shrimp marinated with extra virgin olive oil and fresh hazelnuts, oysters and seafood.
