Description
The Premier Cru Les Caillerets Chassagne-Montrachet white wine from Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay was born near the village of Chassagne, in the south of the Côte de Beaune, in Burgundy.
It is obtained from 100% Chardonnay grapes, which are softly pressed and subsequently decanted for 24 hours. The vinification takes place in French oak barrels, where both fermentations take place. Finally the wine is aged for 15 months in barriques, 1/3 of which are new.
The wine is characterized by a golden yellow color and reveals mineral notes on the nose, aromas of ripe pear and apple, aromatic herbs and nutty hints. The sip is structured, concentrated and with a long persistence.
This wine goes excellently with poultry, such as chicken, pheasant or partridge, but also with ham and roast pork.
