Chianti DOCG Riserva 2011 Petriolo
Description
The Chianti Petriolo reserve of Fattoria Petriolo was born in vineyards located on the hills of Rignano sull'Arno, in the province of Florence.
It is produced 90% with Sangiovese grapes, 5% with Merlot grapes and 5% with Cabernet grapes, strictly hand-picked between the end of September and mid-October. After careful selection in the vineyard, the grapes are fermented with maceration on the skins for about 15-18 days at controlled temperature. After racking, further dried grapes are added for a second fermentation of about 1 month. Then the wine ages for at least 6 months in large barrels and for 2 months in barrique and ages in bottle for a further 2 months before being marketed.
Petriolo Riserva is a ruby red wine with garnet hues. The nose has an intense and complex bouquet, with evident notes of ripe cherry, blackberries and currants. In the mouth it is full-bodied, with hints of vanilla and black pepper and refined tannins.
Perfect to accompany first courses and meat, both red and white, it is ideal in combination with cold cuts, cold cuts and medium-textured cheeses.
