Description
The Chianti Gran Selezione Chigi Saracini from Tenuta Poggio Bonelli represents one of the most refined expressions of the Castelnuovo Berardenga area. Produced from carefully selected Sangiovese grapes grown in the most suitable vineyards, south-facing and situated between 280 and 360 meters above sea level, it elegantly interprets the depth and finesse of Chianti Classico.
Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats for about 12 days, with frequent pump-overs to encourage the extraction of aromas and structure. After the wine is drawn off, it continues macerating on the skins and ages in French oak barrels for at least 24 months, followed by further aging in the bottle.
In the glass, it shows a bright ruby red color. The nose reveals ample and delicate aromas of cyclamen, iris, black cherry, and red currant, while the palate is harmonious, enveloping, and well-balanced, with soft tannins, pleasant freshness, and a long, spicy, refined finish.
It elegantly pairs with Florentine steak, hearty roasts, wild boar, pasta with meat sauce, and aged cheeses.
