Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG Vigna del Capannino 2011 Bibbiano
Description
The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Capannino di Bibbiano was born in vineyards located in Castellina in Chianti, in the heart of the Chianti Classico DOCG.
It is entirely produced with Sangiovese Grosso grapes, manually harvested in October. Fermentation takes place, with maceration in contact with the skins, in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature for about 25 days. Subsequently the wine ages for 24 months, partly in French oak tonneaux and partly in Slavonian oak barrels, and for another 6 months in bottle.
The Vigna del Capannino di Bibbiano is characterized by a deep ruby red color. The nose opens with an intense and complex bouquet, with pleasant fruity sensations of black cherry and cherry, enriched with hints of tobacco, cocoa and black pepper combined with balsamic and mineral notes. On the palate it is structured and powerful, but also fine and elegant, evidently savory and with sweet and silky tannins that accompany towards a persistent finish.
Perfect to accompany first courses and grilled red meats, it is ideal in combination with medium-aged cheeses.
