Description

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto San Marcellino is a red wine produced by Rocca di Montegrossi in Gaiole in Chianti, in the heart of Chianti Classico. It is made mainly from Sangiovese grapes with a small percentage of Pugnitello. Coming from vineyards cultivated according to certified organic farming principles, it represents an authentic and distinctive expression of the region, combining tradition and winemaking precision.

Vinification involves the separate fermentation of the grapes at controlled temperatures, accompanied by maceration on the skins to promote a balanced extraction of color, structure, and aromatic components. The wine initially matures in large oak vats, continues aging in medium-toast French oak barriques and tonneaux, and completes its evolution in cement tanks and subsequently in bottle in the estate cellars.

In the glass, it displays a deep, bright ruby red color. The nose reveals complex aromas of cherry, wild berries, and light floral notes, enriched by spicy, balsamic nuances and delicate toasted hints. On the palate, it is structured and elegant, with fine, well-integrated tannins, lively freshness, and a long, savory, harmonious finish.

It pairs in great balance with roast red meats, traditional Tuscan dishes, game, and aged cheeses, enhancing their depth and aromatic intensity.
