Description

Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigneto San Marcellino is a red wine produced by Rocca di Montegrossi in Gaiole in Chianti, at the heart of Chianti Classico, made predominantly from Sangiovese with a small percentage of Pugnitello; it represents an authentic and distinctive expression of the region, combining tradition with precise winemaking.

Vinification takes place with separate fermentation of the grapes at controlled temperature, accompanied by skin maceration to achieve a balanced extraction of color, structure, and aromatic components; the wine initially matures in large oak vats, continues aging in medium-toasted French oak barriques and tonneaux, and completes its evolutionary path in concrete tanks and later in bottles in the winery's cellars.

In the glass it displays an intense and brilliant ruby red color; on the nose it presents complex aromas of cherry, berries, and light floral notes, enhanced by spicy, balsamic nuances and delicate toasted hints; on the palate it is structured and elegant, with fine, well-integrated tannins, vibrant freshness, and a long, savory, and harmonious finish.

It pairs superbly with roasted red meats, traditional Tuscan dishes, game, and aged cheeses, highlighting their depth and aromatic intensity.
