Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva Il Poggio 2012 Castello Monsanto
Description
The Chianti Classico Il Poggio di Castello Monsanto was born in the homonymous vineyard located in the municipality of Barberino Val d'Elsa, in the province of Florence.
It is mainly produced with Sangiovese and Canaiolo and Colorino grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. Subsequently the wine ages for 20 months in French oak barrels, before being bottled.
The Chianti Classico Il Poggio di Castello Monsanto has an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with hints of black cherry and violet, enriched with elegant spicy notes. On the palate it is a wine of personality, dense and structured, rightly tannic.
This red wine is perfect to accompany stewed meats, roasts, game and mature cheeses.
