Description
The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Riserva Ducale Oro by Ruffino originates from the vineyards of Ruffino Estates in Gretole and Santedame, in the most prestigious production area of Chianti Classico, the Conca d'Oro. Born in 1947 to commemorate a great vintage, this wine is produced only in the best years, when the grapes meet the high qualitative standards of the company.
It is predominantly made with Sangiovese grapes and with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 28°C for 10 days. The wine is aged for about 36 months in cement and steel tanks, for 12 months in oak barriques, and for a further 6 months in the bottle before its release.
The wine is characterized by a ruby red color. The nose opens with an intriguing bouquet, with hints of violets and plums, enriched with pleasant spicy notes of cocoa and cinnamon. On the palate, it is of great structure and well balanced, with delicate tannins and a pleasantly long and persistent finish.
Perfect for accompanying grilled red meats, it is ideal when paired with game and aged cheeses.
