Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG Santa Caterina 2015 Castello di Albola
Description
The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione of Castello di Albola was born in vineyards located in the municipality of Radda in Chianti, in the province of Siena.
It is produced exclusively with Sangiovese grapes, harvested and selected entirely by hand. Fermentation takes place, with maceration in contact with the skins for 3 weeks, in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 14 months, half in barrique and the other half in large oak barrels, and for a further 18 months in bottle before being placed on the market.
The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione from Castello di Albola has a ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose opens with an elegant and intense bouquet, with floral notes of lily, hints of pepper, cinnamon and tobacco. On the palate it is firm and voluminous, sweetly tannic, with a pleasantly long and persistent finish.
Perfect to accompany roasts, this red wine is ideal in combination with game and mature cheeses.
