Chianti Rufina Riserva DOCG Villa Bossi 2011 Marchesi Gondi
Description
The Chianti Rùfina Riserva Villa Bossi dei Marchesi Gondi was born in the vineyards of Villa Bossi from which it takes its name, located in the prestigious Tuscan hills. This wine represents the company's Gran Cru: a structured and very long-lived reserve.
It is mainly produced with Sangiovese grapes and with Colorino and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, carefully picked and selected by hand in the first days of October. After fermentation in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures, the wine ages in Slavonian oak barrels for about 12 months, for another 12 months in barriques and for a further 24 months in bottle before being placed on the market.
Chianti Rùfina Riserva Villa Bossi is characterized by an intense ruby red color with a coloring texture and light purple reflections. The nose opens with a variegated fruity bouquet of cassis and ripe and macerated blackberry, enriched with hints of licorice and delicate vanilla notes. On the finish it gives a pleasant cocoa aftertaste. A complex wine, with great structure and character. On the palate it is soft, pleasantly tannic and long.
Wine suitable for all meat courses, it is ideal to be served in particular with game or with tasty stewed meat recipes. It is excellent when paired with fresh or aged cheeses.
