Description
The Colli della Toscana Centrale Rosso Ser Amerigo dei Marchesi Gondi was born in the Villa Bossi estate, located in the renowned Tuscan hills. Born from the vision of Bernardo Gondi, this wine was created to seduce and amaze, thanks to a skillful combination of autochthonous and international grapes. Being the wine with the most American taste , it owes its name to the members of the family who brought the name of the one who discovered the new world, thanks also to funding from the Gondi family to a previous expedition.
It is produced 40% from Sangiovese grapes, 20% from Colorino grapes and 40% from Merlot grapes all harvested and selected manually the first days of the month of October. Fermentation takes place in vats, at a temperature controlled by a refrigeration machine. Subsequently the wine ages for 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels, for 12 months in barriques and for a further 24 months in bottle.
Colli della Toscana Centrale Rosso Ser Amerigo is characterized by a ruby red color with garnet reflections. The nose opens with an elegant bouquet of fruits, with delicate hints of plum, cherry and notes of undergrowth and tobacco. On the palate it is pleasantly complex, tannic, sapid and refined.
It is perfect to combine with pen game, barbecued red meats. It is ideal to accompany aged cheeses such as Tuscan pecorino.
