Description

The Picolin di Pighin was born in the vineyards of the Spessa di Capriva estate of the Friulian company, in the heart of the famous Collio DOC.

This sweet wine is made entirely from Picolit grapes, harvested late after a careful selection bunch by bunch. After the harvest, the grapes are left to dry for about 20 days in special ventilated rooms. The must is then obtained from a classic white vinification with soft pressing, followed by the fermentation phase carried out half in barriques and the remaining half in small temperature-controlled steel containers. The evolution takes place in barriques for about 8 months, after which the Picolit is bottled and continues the refinement in the bottle.

Pighin's Picolit has a deep and dense golden yellow color. The nose offers an aromatic scent with notes of acacia and freesia which are supported by fruity hints of apricot and peach and sweet sensations of honey. In the mouth it is warm and very elegant, with long and persistent aromatic sensations that delight the palate.

Perfect meditation wine, it also goes very well with fois gras or soft cheeses such as gorgonzola, served with honey or with pear and fig jams. Excellent also with dry almond sweets.
