Description

What kind of wine it is

Corton-Charlemagne by Douhairet-Porcheret is a structured white wine made from Chardonnay grapes. Dedicated to the birth of the owners’ child, the cuvée captures the region’s style with remarkable consistency. Skillful use of oak creates a rounded structure and a precise aromatic profile, ensuring flawless balance on the palate.

Where it comes from

Originating from the Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru appellation, the wine faithfully reflects its native terroir through an interpretation where Chardonnay takes center stage. The cru’s identity is revealed in a perfect balance of elegance and intensity that supports both palate structure and aromatic complexity.

How it is made

Grapes are hand-picked early in the morning and placed in small perforated crates to preserve their integrity. Traditional fermentation aims to highlight the fruit and its unique origin. The wine then ages for twelve months in partially new French oak barrels to achieve a broad texture and greater structural definition.

Tasting notes

In the glass it appears straw yellow with bright golden highlights. The bouquet reveals intense floral notes, hints of green apple and peach, complemented by fresh herbal nuances of sage and thyme. On the palate, it is appreciated for its rounded and velvety sip that develops smoothly. The long, lingering finish seamlessly combines aromas and mouthfeel.

Food pairing

Its elegance and rich aromatic texture make it the perfect companion for fresh cheeses, seafood, and main fish courses. The soft structure also complements flavorful seafood dishes, ensuring a pure pairing. At the table, it shines alongside shellfish and scallops while perfectly complementing the mollusk’s sweetness.

When to serve it

Excellent when you wish to enjoy Chardonnay in a genuine expression that combines aromatic intensity with smoothness. This white is ideally suited to elevate elegantly fish lunches and dinners. Oak aging enhances its development, offering a rewarding tasting experience to be savored leisurely during moments of togetherness.
