Description
What kind of wine it is
Costa Toscana Rosé Tenuta Le Colonne is a rosé wine made from Merlot and Syrah grapes grown in the south of Tuscany, in the Bolgheri area. The red grapes are vinified as a white wine with a cold process, and fermentation takes place in stainless steel at a controlled temperature, which creates a clean and straightforward profile. The palate is fresh and easygoing, with a mineral touch and a slightly savory finish, offering great versatility at the table.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from vineyards located in Bolgheri, in southern Tuscany, in a coastal setting characterized by a mild and breezy climate. The vines are planted on southwest-facing slopes, allowing for regular ripening and excellent aromatic definition. The soils are predominantly sandy, which is reflected in a linear sip and balanced minerality.
How it is produced
Production involves white vinification of red grapes using a cold process, followed by gentle pressing to extract the most delicate must. After pressing, alcoholic fermentation begins in stainless steel for about twelve days at a controlled temperature of 18°C, preserving the wine’s freshness and clarity. Harvest takes place around the end of August; once fermentation is complete, the wine is aged for about three months in stainless steel, without any time in wood, keeping it smooth and precise.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it displays a pale and bright pink color, in line with the delicate winemaking. The nose reveals aromas of red fruits such as currant and raspberry, alongside floral notes. The palate is pleasantly fresh and smooth; the finish offers delicate saline notes and a mineral sensation supporting the persistence.
Food pairings
It naturally pairs with seafood appetizers, enhancing their delicate flavors thanks to its freshness and subtle savoriness. It is also recommended with seafood risotto, where the fruity character complements the dish’s savory touch, and with grilled vegetables, which are supported by the wine’s linear profile and mineral finish.
When to serve it
This rosé is ideal when you’re looking for a fresh and well-defined wine, suitable for both aperitifs and meals with lighter dishes. Served chilled, it highlights red fruit aromas and floral notes, keeping the sip lively. The choice of stainless steel for fermentation and aging fosters fragrance and immediacy, making it perfect for relaxed, social occasions without heaviness.
