Description
This Côte-Rôtie by Victor Berard comes from the northernmost area of the Rhône Valley, on the right bank of the river, where viticulture thrives on metamorphic rock soils rich in fractures, allowing the vine roots to draw deeply from nutrients and water. A wine of great character, an authentic expression of the land and the local winemaking tradition.
The Syrah grapes are handpicked and partially destemmed before undergoing a traditional vinification that lasts from 2 to 3 weeks. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts, followed by 16 months of aging in French oak barrels, which imparts elegance and depth to the wine's aromatic profile.
It presents itself with an intense purple hue. The bouquet is powerful and refined, with aromas of ripe black fruits and licorice, enhanced by delicate notes of cocoa. On the palate, it offers a perfect balance between freshness and well-defined tannic structure, delivering a sensation of fullness and persistence.
It pairs perfectly with veal carré with chanterelles or coq au vin (chicken marinated in wine).
