Dolcetto d'Alba DOC 2016 Roagna
Description
Dolcetto d'Alba di Roagna comes from two historic vineyards in the Barbaresco area: the Paje, rich in limestone marl, and the Karst, which has clayey and sandy limestone soil. The minimum age of the vines, in both vineyards, is around 45 years.
Dolcetto grapes are rigorously harvested by hand in September, when fully ripe. After having undergone several selections, the bunches are pressed and transformed into must. Maceration, fermentation and maturation take place inside wooden containers.
Ruby red in color, this Dolcetto has a pleasant bouquet, reminiscent of the scent of fermenting must and red fruit. In the mouth the tannin is well perceptible but is not intrusive, perfectly integrated with the living acidity. It closes in a slightly almondy finish.
Find an excellent pairing in first courses with meat sauce.
