Description
Produced by Tasca d’Almerita at the Tascante Estate, located on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in the Pianodario district, this Etna Rosso originates from vines cultivated on volcanic terraces at an altitude of 775 meters. The Nerello Mascalese, the only grape variety used, benefits from a unique environment of ancient lava soils and significant temperature fluctuations, contributing to its complexity and finesse. The northeast-southwest exposure and the particular microclimate confer a slow and complete maturation, typical of this Etna context.
Vinification takes place in stainless steel with traditional fermentation at a controlled temperature between 25 and 30 degrees, followed by a completed malolactic fermentation. The aging continues in large Slavonian oak barrels for a period of 12 months, ensuring perfect harmonization of aromas and structure without altering its freshness and territorial expressiveness.
In appearance, it presents a clear ruby red color. The olfactory profile is elegant and floral, with delicate scents that precede a fine and balanced palate. The tannins, silky and well integrated, accompany a fluid and persistent drink, highlighting the purity of the Nerello Mascalese and the typical minerality of volcanic soils.
It pairs perfectly with dishes based on roasted or stewed red meats.
