Description
Etna Rosso by Tenute Mannino is a red wine produced on the northern slope of Mount Etna, in Contrada Bragaseggi, in the territory of Castiglione di Sicilia. The vineyards are located at 600 meters above sea level and have roots in fine volcanic sand soils, naturally enriched with iron, silicon, and pumice, with occasional contributions of lapilli and lava sands due to eruptive activity.
The wine is made from a blend of native grapes, mainly Nerello Mascalese, along with Nerello Cappuccio. After hand harvesting, the grapes are vinified and the wine ages for 12 months in large French oak barrels.
In the glass, it shows a bright ruby red color. On the nose, it is elegant, with aromas ranging from citrus to vanilla notes, accompanied by scents of ripe wild red berries and mineral hints of flint. On the palate, the wine is full, persistent, and well-balanced, with fine tannins that harmonize perfectly with the acidic component.
Perfect paired with red meats, game, rich first courses, and aged cheeses.
