Description
What kind of wine is it
Milledì is a Franciacorta Brut from Ferghettina made using the Traditional Method, obtained from 100% Chardonnay grapes. It is an elegant wine, a precise expression of its terroir and the production method from which it is born.
Where it comes from
The grapes come from vineyards on the gentle slopes of Adro, in the heart of Franciacorta. This hillside location shapes the wine’s profile and its territorial identity right from the start.
How it is made
The Chardonnay grapes are harvested strictly by hand around mid-August. After pressing, only the free-run must is placed in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks, between sixteen and eighteen degrees, vinified separately for each vineyard. The following spring, the different wines are blended into a cuvée and bottled for the prise de mousse according to the Traditional Method, with ageing on the lees for a total of thirty-six months.
Tasting notes
The colour is straw yellow, with green and golden highlights, accompanied by a fine, persistent mousse. On the nose and palate, refined citrus notes are evident, enriched by a well-balanced minerality. The palate is elegant, with a pleasantly long finish.
Food pairing
Perfect as an aperitif, this Franciacorta is ideal with appetizers and fish and shellfish dishes, both raw and cooked.
When to serve it
Serve well chilled, at around 6–8°C, as an aperitif or to accompany the start of a fish-based meal. It is the ideal choice for convivial moments when an elegant, refined sip is desired.
