Description
What kind of wine is it?
Franciacorta Brut Satèn from Contadi Castaldi is made from Chardonnay grapes. Produced using the rigorous Traditional Method, it combines a fresh profile with the smoothness on the palate typical of this style. Ageing in barrique provides structure and balance, culminating in a persistent finish.
Where does it come from?
It originates in Franciacorta, a region in Lombardy highly suited for sparkling wines. The central vineyards benefit from ideal conditions for Chardonnay. This sense of place lends the wine an expression of freshness and finesse, where sapidity and natural elegance are well-balanced in the glass.
How is it produced?
Harvesting is done by hand between late August and early September. After a gentle pressing, the must ferments for twenty days in stainless steel. Seven months of ageing take place in steel and barrique, imparting structural complexity, before the secondary fermentation in the bottle.
Tasting notes
Brilliant straw yellow, it displays a fine and persistent perlage. The nose is fresh, with scents of hawthorn and clear notes of apple and figs. On the palate, it is smooth, supported by a good sapidity that carries the sip towards a long and extremely clean finish.
Food pairings
Ideal to accompany fish dishes, where its liveliness enhances simple preparations. It goes perfectly with seafood and shellfish, bringing out the marine flavours. At the table, it is impeccable with seafood starters, light fried dishes, or paired with sushi.
When to serve it
Perfect for convivial occasions, it naturally accompanies the meal from aperitif to the end. Its smoothness and balanced taste make it suitable for contemporary seafood cuisine. It should be enjoyed in its immediacy, for the elegance of the sip and its delicate persistence.
