Description
The '61 line was created to celebrate the glory and splendor of the year in which the first Franciacorta was born, crafted in 1961 in the centuries-old Berlucchi cellars after Guido met Franco Ziliani. As a benchmark Italian winery for the entire Franciacorta region and sparkling wines in general, Guido Berlucchi is the purest expression of its territory: pure because every glass of Berlucchi captures the delicate lightness that is typical of Franciacorta bubbles.
Made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, the harvest is carried out strictly by hand, from the second half of August to early September. The grapes undergo gentle and gradual pressing with must fractionation, after which the must ferments in stainless steel tanks. Aging takes place in contact with the yeasts for 24 months, followed by 2 months after disgorgement.
The Franciacorta Extra Brut '61 stands out for its straw yellow color with greenish highlights. On the nose, it is fragrant and elegant, enriched by aromas of white-fleshed fruit. On the palate, the intriguing freshness is balanced by a soft and harmonious sip, with a finish rich in citrus sensations.
Highly versatile when pairing, it is an excellent companion for aperitifs but also the perfect choice to accompany fish-based first courses and white meat main courses. Recommended with traditional Lombardy dishes such as casoncelli, filled ravioli, and lake fish like Arctic char and perch.
