Friuli Colli Orientali DOC Biele Zôe Cuvée 85/15 Friulano 2017 Tenimenti Civa
Description
Tenimenti Civa's Friulano was born in the Colli Orientali del Friuli DOC, precisely in the vineyards of Bellazoia di Povoletto, in the province of Udine, whose Friulian name Biele Zôe identifies the production line to which it belongs.
It consists almost exclusively of bunches of Tocai Friulano, accompanied by small percentages of Chardonnay grapes and other autochthonous white berry varieties from Friuli. The harvest takes place only by hand around the middle of September. After a short cold decanting of the must, fermentation takes place in steel for about 15 days and subsequent aging on the lees for 4-6 months.
It is pale yellow in color. The nose is expressed on delicate citrus notes, enriched with pleasant hints of wildflowers and minerals. In the mouth it is inviting, soft and fresh, with an intriguing hint of almond in the finish.
Excellent together with dishes based on molluscs or crustaceans, it is traditionally paired with an aperitif based on San Daniele ham.
