Friuli Colli Orientali DOC Ribolla Gialla 2016 La Viarte

With this Ribolla Gialla, La Viarte wants to pay homage to what is supposed to be the oldest grape variety in Friuli.

It consists of pure Ribolla Gialla, from the vineyards inserted between the gentle slopes of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. The soils of this area are characterized by a marked minerality, given by the presence of marl and sandstone of Eocene origin. Harvested by hand, the grapes are transported to the cellar and softly pressed. Vinification in steel follows an aging in contact with its fine lees. A last month, minimum, bottle stop, completes the journey of this Ribolla.

Straw yellow, at sight. The nose expands in fruity notes of white peach and citrus, on a background of aromatic herbs. In the mouth it is fresh and finely savory, in balance with a solid structure. The sip develops elegantly, leaving a slight citrus persistence.

Perfect with a stuffed cuttlefish.
