Friuli Colli Orientali DOC Tazzelenghe 2011 La Viarte
Description
The Tazzelenghe of the La Viarte winery is an autochthonous red, which comes from the land of the Colli Orientali del Friuli. As you can guess from the name, which translated from the local dialect means 'size tongue' it is a wine with a pronounced tannin and an incisive character.
It consists of pure Tazzelenghe grapes, autochthonous from Friuli. It is harvested manually in several stages, starting from the owned vineyards nestled between the hills and defined by a soil rich in marl and sandstone of Eocene origin. It carries out vinification in steel and aging in new oak barriques for a period of 12 months. The maturation ends with a stop in the bottle for about 2 years.
It presents, in the glass, with a deep red color, impenetrable. The bouquet is wide and varied, articulated in notes of plum jam, chocolate, tobacco and aromatic wood. In the mouth it shows a well-present tannin that gives it strength and character, without falling into roughness thanks to the soft sip.
Ideal to combine with a stuffed quail.
