Description
The Garnacha Blanca from Viña Zorzal is a white wine produced in Corella, in the heart of the Ribera Baja of Navarra, from vineyards located on the hills at the border between the Ebro Valley and the Iberian mountains. The bush-trained vineyards are at high altitudes on stony soils, expressing the best potential of the native Garnacha Blanca variety. The project stems from a respect for local wine-growing traditions and a firm commitment to sustainable agricultural practices, the result of the experience of two generations of the Sanz family.
The winemaking process involves manual harvesting during the cooler evening hours, followed by destemming and cold maceration to extract the free-run juice after several hours of skin contact. Fermentation occurs exclusively with indigenous yeasts. At the end, the wine ages on the fine lees for seven months in Flextank containers and barrels, keeping the varietal and territorial characteristics intact.
It appears clear, with a medium intensity lemon yellow color. On the nose, there are clean and delicate aromas of white-fleshed fruit and citrus, such as peach and apricot, with light mineral notes. On the palate, it is dry and fresh, with a medium body and flavors consistent with the nose, enriched by a long and balanced finish.
Ideal paired with oven-baked fish dishes or light-prepared white meats.
