Description

The Gattinara di Nervi is a red that dresses in the typical complexity of the north-Piedmontese Nebbioli, with an unmistakable imprint.

Nebbiolo in purity, it comes from the Molsino, Valferana, Garavoglie and Casacce vineyards, located at an altitude between 290 and 420 meters above sea level. The grapes are selected, harvested and transported to the cellar, where they are de-stemmed and softly pressed. Alcoholic fermentation follows, carried out in steel containers, and 5 years of aging in large wooden barrels. A further passage in cement tanks precedes the bottling, in which it will mature for a further year.

Garnet red, at sight. The perfume is articulated in a complex plot of red fruit, small berries of the forest and earthy hints, inserted in a spicy background of black pepper and cinnamon. In the mouth it is full, developed in a consistent body and in an evident tannin. The freshness heralds a long life for this Gattinara.

Ideal in combination with a fillet with green pepper.
