Description
Occitan Gin by Bordiga is a London Dry Gin produced in Cuneo, in Piedmont, born from one of the first Italian gin recipes and inspired by the original “Dry Juniper Liqueur”. Its character derives from juniper hand-picked in the Italian Occitan Alpine Valleys, an area where the influence of Mediterranean air meets the mountain environment and the culture of Occitania.
The production follows an ancient, artisanal process based on high-quality raw materials: juniper, angelica, cardamom and coriander are left to macerate in pure grain alcohol for 48–72 hours, without resorting to ultrasound, centrifuges or other non-natural extraction methods. After maceration, the solid and liquid parts are distilled with the addition of orange and lemon peels; the distillate is then filtered through natural paper filters made of pure cellulose and, after bottling, it rests in the Bordiga cellars for at least 15–20 days at a constant temperature of about 10 °C.
Crystal clear in appearance. On the nose, notes of forest floor and pine resin emerge, followed by hints of citrus and juniper, while on the palate it is enveloping and bold, with intense spicy and resinous sensations supported by citrus freshness.
Ideal as an aperitif or after dinner, it can be enjoyed well chilled, neat, or used in the preparation of gin-based cocktails.
