Kamptal Reserve DAC Grüner Veltliner Alte Reben 2012 Brundlmayer
Description
Brundlmayer's Kamptal Reserve Grüner Veltliner Alte Reben comes from old vineyards (this is in fact the meaning of the name "Alte Reben") with an average age of around 50 years, located in the Langenlois area of Lower Austria.
The Grüner Veltliner grapes used to produce this wine are harvested in November. Once the must is obtained, it is left to ferment in already used 300 liter Austrian oak barrels. The maturation phase takes place in second and third passage barriques.
The color is straw yellow. The scent immediately tickles the nose with spicy hints of white pepper, inserted in a broad fruity background that recalls citrus, pineapple and dried apricot, with a sweet honey note. In the mouth it is ripe and enveloping, but always well balanced by a lively and elegant mineral flavor.
Excellent with first courses of fish, pork and au gratin vegetables. It surprises in combination with the well-known Austrian Wiener Schnitzel.
