Description
Langhe Rosso La Villa is a wine produced by Elio Altare in the municipality of La Morra, crafted from a blend of Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes sourced from vineyards situated on sandy and tuffaceous soils with southern and south-eastern exposure. The limited production reflects a handcrafted approach aimed at enhancing the balance between structure and freshness typical of the region.
Vinification takes place with maceration on the skins in a rotofermenter at controlled temperature for several days, allowing optimal extraction of color and aromas. The wine continues its journey by aging in new French barriques for an extended period, during which it develops complexity, elegance, and a well-defined tannic texture.
In the glass, it displays an intense deep ruby red color. The nose is intense and characterized by hints of plum and blackberry. On the palate, it is fresh and harmonious, with notes of small red fruits, supported by well-balanced tannins and a pleasant acidity that adds vibrancy, making the sip complex and balanced.
It pairs perfectly with red meats, flavorful dishes, and aged cheeses.
