Description
Langhe Rosso Larigi is a wine produced by Elio Altare in the municipality of La Morra, made from Barbera grapes grown in a historic vineyard planted on clay-sandy marl soils with south and south-east exposure. The limited production best expresses the authentic character of the grape variety and the territory, with particular attention to quality and concentration.
The vinification involves maceration on the skins in a rotofermenter at a controlled temperature for several days, promoting a balanced extraction of color and aromas. The refinement takes place in new French barriques for a prolonged period, during which the wine acquires structure, complexity, and a refined integration of its components.
It shows a deep, dark purple-red color. The nose reveals intense notes of red fruits, with a very fruity and persistent profile. On the palate, it is warm, soft, and enveloping, with silky and velvety tannins well balanced by pleasant acidity, and a finish recalling hints of blackberry and cherry.
It pairs perfectly with red meats, rich dishes, and aged cheeses.
