Langhe Nebbiolo DOC Montegrilli 2020 Elvio Cogno

Montegrilli by Elvio Cogno is a 100% Nebbiolo and is born in the homonymous vineyard. It is one of the historic companies of the Langa.

The grapes are harvested between late September and early October. Once they arrive in the cellar, they are fermented in steel at a controlled temperature. Then there is an aging, again in steel, for 8 months and then in the bottle for 6 months.

The wine has a bright ruby red color but not too intense. The nose is pleasant, harmonious and balanced. There are floral hints of violets and roses, fruit and light spices (white pepper). In the mouth it is a full-bodied wine, with a fresh and soft taste reminiscent of small red fruits, such as raspberry and currant, with soft and elegant tannins. The finish is juicy and persistent.

Langhe Nebbiolo goes well with pasta (also stuffed) with meat sauce, with roasts and aged cheeses.
