Description
What kind of wine it is
Langhe Nebbiolo by Tenuta Cucco is a red wine made from 100% Nebbiolo, produced in the Langhe region. The vinification involves a two-phase fermentation: the first occurs with the skins, the second without, followed by malolactic fermentation and aging in stainless steel tanks until bottling. The result is a fresh and smooth style, with a fruity profile and gentle tannins, designed to offer a straightforward interpretation of the grape variety.
Origin
This wine comes from the vineyards of Langhe at Tenuta Cucco, located on limestone-clay soils and facing south. These conditions favor regular ripening and contribute to a balanced identity, focused on freshness and aromatic definition. The estate origin and parcel selection result in a Langhe Nebbiolo aimed at balance and drinkability.
Production
After harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and transferred to vats. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in two stages: the first at 24°C for four days in contact with the skins, followed by a second phase “in white,” without skins, at 22°C. After alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation occurs and the wine continues to age in stainless steel until bottling, preserving the wine's clarity and freshness of fruit.
Tasting notes
In the glass, it shows a pale ruby red color. On the nose, the initial impression is vinous, leading to floral notes of rose and violet, followed by hints of currant, black cherry, and raspberry, with a final hint of cocoa. On the palate it is fruity and fresh, with a gentle, never intrusive tannic texture, for a smooth and linear sip.
Pairings
It naturally pairs with snacks of salami and cheese, where its freshness and measured tannins help cleanse the palate. It is also suitable for ragù pasta dishes and not overly elaborate red meats, as it supports the bite without overwhelming and maintains harmony between plate and sip.
When to serve it
It is recommended when you want a red wine with a fresh sip and gentle tannins, ideal for convivial moments at the table. Aging in stainless steel keeps the focus on fruit and immediacy, making it suitable for consumption soon after bottling. Served with cured meats, cheeses, flavorful pasta dishes, or simple red meats, it offers a clear expression of Langhe Nebbiolo.
