Description

What kind of wine is it

Lodai di Fertuna is a Tuscan red wine that combines classic and international grape varieties to offer a structured yet approachable blend. Produced with Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes, this wine fully expresses the region’s character. The style is smooth and balanced, marked by a long-lasting finish that accompanies the entire tasting experience without being overwhelming.

Where it comes from

This red is born in the vineyards located in the municipality of Gavorrano, in the green heart of the region, within the Maremma Toscana Rosso. The wine-growing area imparts a unique and recognizable character that enhances the potential of the grapes in a territory renowned for wine. Fertuna attends to every detail of the production process, with geographic origin remaining a core part of the wine’s identity.

How it is produced

Vinification begins with careful manual harvesting to select the best clusters. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at controlled temperatures for a period of ten to twenty days to ensure proper extraction. Afterwards, the wine is aged in barriques for twelve months to refine its aromatic profile, then rests for a further six months in the bottle before release.

Tasting notes

The wine displays a deep ruby red color brightened by elegant garnet highlights. The bouquet reveals depth, dominated by distinct berry aromas and complemented by smooth hints of vanilla from aging. On the palate, it’s pleasantly velvety, supported by excellent structure and a continuous, lingering finish that closes with remarkable harmony.

Food pairings

The intensity and texture of this red make it the perfect partner for grilled red meats and game dishes. Its body also stands up well to hearty fare and is recommended with well-seasoned white meat mains. Additionally, it pairs excellently with aged cheeses thanks to a harmonious finish that balances bold flavors.

When to serve it

This wine fits beautifully at convivial occasions focused on meat-based menus or cheese tastings. Its drinkability makes it enjoyable throughout the meal, enhancing accompanying dishes. Thanks to meticulous aging in wood and glass, it offers a stable sensory profile from the moment it’s released, ensuring a rewarding and well-defined tasting experience.
