Description
What kind of wine is it
Marsannay Source des Roches from Domaine Bruno Clair is a still white wine from Burgundy made exclusively from Chardonnay. Its style combines freshness and precision: fermentation in stainless steel protects the fruit profile, while time spent in oak barrels adds nuances without altering the grape variety’s identity.
Where does it come from
It originates in Marsannay, in the Burgundy region, from the Source des Roches parcel. The vineyard enjoys a southeast exposure and the clay-limestone soils contribute to the wine's character and definition on the palate.
How it is produced
Vinification features fermentation in stainless steel for about 2–3 weeks, a choice that helps preserve freshness and primary aromas. This is followed by aging for 18 months in oak barrels, designed to confer complexity and depth without masking the typical notes of Chardonnay.
Tasting notes
In the glass it shows a pale golden yellow color. The bouquet is delicate and recalls apple and lemon. On the palate, the sip is fresh and well balanced, with a clean finish that remains pleasantly flowing.
Pairings
For its profile and freshness, it naturally accompanies seafood and dishes from the sea cuisine. It also pairs well with shellfish and first courses based on fish, where its balanced sip lends itself to delicate preparations.
When to serve it
It is an ideal choice when you want a crisp and measured white, perfect for seafood-based menus. It is best expressed when served chilled, thus enhancing the fruity notes and balanced sensation on the palate.
